BioPattern is a personal health data application for tracking biomarkers, lab results, interventions, wearable data, and related health trends. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and the choices you have.

BioPattern is designed for personal tracking and education. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, emergency services, or a substitute for professional care. Always consult a qualified health professional before making medical decisions.

Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information when you use BioPattern:

• Account information, such as your name, email address, login details, and settings.
• Lab reports and biomarker data, including uploaded PDFs, extracted text, parsed lab values, dates, units, reference ranges, and original source values.
• Manually entered health measurements, notes, timestamps, and corrections.
• Intervention data, such as supplements, medications, behaviors, lifestyle changes, dates, doses, notes, and related biomarker links.
• Connected wearable data that you authorize us to access, including WHOOP profile, body measurement, recovery, cycle, strain, workout, and sleep data, depending on the scopes you approve.
• Technical information, such as device, browser, IP address, usage logs, diagnostics, and security events.
• Support communications you send to us.

WHOOP Data and OAuth Consent

BioPattern only accesses WHOOP data after you authorize the connection through WHOOP's OAuth consent flow. The consent screen will describe the scopes requested before you approve access. We request only the scopes needed to provide the features you choose to use.

If you connect WHOOP, we may receive access tokens and, when authorized, refresh tokens that allow BioPattern to sync your WHOOP data. We use these tokens only to operate the integration. You may disconnect WHOOP access at any time. After disconnection, we will stop syncing new WHOOP data and, where supported, revoke access tokens. You may also ask us to delete previously imported WHOOP data.

How We Use Information

We use your information to:

• Provide, maintain, secure, and improve BioPattern.
• Import, parse, normalize, organize, and display your health data.
• Visualize trends and help you compare biomarkers, interventions, and wearable signals over time.
• Process uploaded lab reports and extract structured values.
• Respond to support requests and troubleshoot issues.
• Prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and security incidents.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use WHOOP data or health data for third-party advertising.

How We Share Information

We share information only as needed to operate BioPattern, comply with law, or with your direction. This may include:

• Service providers that host the application, store data, provide authentication, process PDFs, run AI parsing, send email, monitor errors, or support security.
• Connected services that you choose to authorize, such as WHOOP.
• Authorities or other parties when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
• Successors in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections for your information.

We require service providers to use your information only to provide services to us and to protect it appropriately. We do not disclose WHOOP data to third parties without your consent except as necessary to provide BioPattern, comply with law, or protect security.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information. These include encryption in transit, access controls, credential protection, secure token handling, logging, and database security controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to reduce risk and respond to security issues promptly.

Data Retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide BioPattern, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may request deletion of your account data, uploaded lab PDFs, parsed measurements, interventions, and imported WHOOP data.

Your Choices

You may:

• Review, correct, export, or delete your information where available in the app.
• Disconnect WHOOP or other integrations at any time.
• Ask us to delete imported WHOOP data and revoke related access where supported.
• Opt out of non-essential communications.
• Contact us with privacy, access, correction, deletion, or portability requests.

Children's Privacy

BioPattern is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

HIPAA and Health Data Notice

BioPattern is a personal health tracking app. Unless we state otherwise in a separate written agreement, BioPattern is not a health care provider, health plan, health care clearinghouse, or business associate under HIPAA. Some information you provide may be sensitive health information, and we treat it with care as described in this policy.

International Users

BioPattern may process and store information in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate. If you use BioPattern from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as posting an updated policy with a new effective date or providing notice in the app.
